What I Believe

WHAT I BELIEVE:  The Bible is given by inpiration of God, and is the infallible, authoritative, true, and without error Word of God. (2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:19-21)

WHAT I BELIEVE: There is only one God who eternally exists in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.  (John 1:1-14; 1 John 5:5-7; John 10:30; Matthew 3:16,17; Matthew 28:18-20)

WHAT I BELIEVE: Jesus Christ is God, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, and in His death that paid for our sin through His shed blood on the cross, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension and rising up to be seated at the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory. (John 1:1; John 1:1-14; John 3:16; Matthew 1:18, 25; Matthew 28:18-20)

WHAT I BELIEVE: In the power and present ministry of the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of truth, who lives within and guides Christians by the truth, enabling them to live godly lives. (John 14:15-26; John 16:5-16; Acts 2:1-18)

WHAT I BELIEVE: The baptism of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in other tongues. (Acts 1:5; Acts 2:4; Acts 2:38; Acts 10:44-48; 1 Corinthians 14).

WHAT I BELIEVE: While we were yet sinners, Christ died for us, signing the pardon for all who believe in Him. It is by by grace that we are saved through faith, and not of ourselves: it is the gift of God. (John 3:16; Romans 5:1-8; Ephesians 2:8-10).

WHAT I BELIEVE: Man is created in the image of God but that by voluntary disobedience fell from perfection, thereby imputing sinfulness to all human beings (Romans 5:12; Ephesians 2:1).

WHAT I BELIEVE: The church consists of born again believers, and followers of Christ, unified in Spirit, and have a sacred duty to identify with the visible church of Jesus Christ and should meet regularly with fellow believers. (Hebrews 10:24, 25; 1 Corinthians 12:12-31).

WHAT I BELIEVE: The second coming of Christ is personal and imminent (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17; James 5:8; Revelation 1:7).

WHAT I BELIEVE: Divine healing is the power of Christ to heal the sick in answer to the prayer of faith, including through medical doctors, and prescribed medicines. (James 5:14-16).

WHAT I BELIEVE: Heaven is the eternal home of born-again believers and hell is the place of eternal torment for all non-believers who reject Jesus Christ as Savior  (John 14:1-3; Revelation 7:15-17, Revelation 10:10-15).

WHAT I BELIEVE: God instituted marriage exclusively between one man and one woman, and this covenant union serves as the foundation of the family and structure of human society. (Genesis 2:24; Matthew 19:5-6; Mark 10:6-9; Romans 1:26-31; 1 Corinthians 6:9)
